Hello Trovians,
Today we launched a new anti-cheat (Xigncode) system for Trove on PC (Glyph/Steam).
We know this is an important change, and we want to communicate clearly about what it means — especially regarding mods, fair play, and the future of the game.
Why we’re introducing this system
Over the past months, exploitative behavior such as item duplication, automation tools, speed manipulation, and multi-client use heavily impacted the player’s experience and game’s economy.
Introducing Xigncode was not a decision we made lightly. We carefully evaluated multiple approaches and alternatives before determining that this was the most responsible step to protect the game’s integrity long-term.
This Xigncode system is a foundational step toward restoring economic stability and ensuring that effort, progression, and competition remain fair.
Mods in Trove – What’s Allowed?
We want to be very clear:
Mods are still tolerated in Trove as long as they do not interfere with fair gameplay.
Trove has always supported creativity and UI enhancements from the community.
Mods that:
- Improve interface clarity
- Enhance visual customization
- Provide quality-of-life features
- Do not automate gameplay
- Do not alter progression, speed, inventory or combat behavior
are fully compatible with our vision for the game.
Mod Blocklist
We withhold the right to blocklist any mod that in our discretion is not compatible with the rules above.
Any mod that violates our guidelines may be restricted and permanently blocklisted. The use of blocklisted mods may result in account penalties, including bans.
We will iteratively screen each mod, and confirmed abusive mods will be added to a blocklist to prevent further use.
Our goal is not to restrict creativity — it is to protect balance and ensure that all players compete on equal terms.
If you are unsure whether a mod complies with our standards, please review the allowed parameters above.
A Step-by-Step Plan for a Healthier Trove
Xigncode is only the first step.
Following the introduction of the new anti-cheat system for Trove we will look at the overall balance, including economic systems and currency flows. We are fully aware that changes at this level require careful economic evaluation, and we will be monitoring their impact closely.
Adjustments will happen iteratively, meaning we will:
- Deploy changes
- Monitor impact
- Adjust carefully where needed
- Repeat the process
We are aware that these changes may require continued economic balance, and we will follow up step by step to ensure stability and long-term improvement.
Looking Forward
This has been a period of important transition for Trove. Throughout it, our focus has remained the same: building a stronger and more balanced game for the future.
With this system in place, we can shift our focus more confidently toward what truly matters: meaningful updates, better balance, and new content.
Fair players are the heart of Trove. This system is designed to preserve the experience you value.
Thank you for your continued support,
Your Trove Team
